Arrived in the UK this morning and after escorting Karen's dad, Peter, to the bus for Gloucester we caught the trains to St Bees for the start of the Coast To Coast.
Well that was the plan until our connecting train was cancelled leaving us potentially stranded in Carlisle. Fortunately the railway company decided to provide taxis to all ticket holders, which I'm sure would have been an expensive exercise, but got us to our destination on time.
We begin walking tomorrow, due to an earlier error in our booking (Clyde got his days confused) there is no rest day until day 22.
Day 1 is a 23km walk through the Lakes District, including one big hill!
